A Vision for Our Schools
Strong Schools Begin With Students at the Center
Chippewa Valley Schools play an important role in the lives of thousands of students, families, teachers, and community members. I'm running for School Board because I want to help ensure our district remains a place where students can learn, teachers can teach, parents are heard, and every decision is made with our children's future in mind.
My vision is grounded in four commitments: safe schools, meaningful partnership with parents, student-centered decision-making, and accountable leadership.
1. Safe Schools Where Every Student Belongs
Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported at school.
Students cannot do their best when they are worried about being bullied, harassed, intimidated, or excluded. School should be a place where children are free to focus on learning, building friendships, and becoming the best versions of themselves.
I believe reports of bullying deserve to be taken seriously, addressed consistently, and communicated appropriately with families. We should also work proactively to create a culture of respect, belonging, and personal responsibility throughout our schools.
No student should feel alone or afraid to go to school.
My commitment: I will advocate for safe, respectful learning environments and meaningful accountability when bullying occurs.
2. Parents as Partners
Parents deserve a meaningful voice in their children's education.
Parents and guardians know their children better than anyone. Schools bring tremendous knowledge and experience to a child's education, but the strongest outcomes happen when educators and families work together.
That partnership requires communication, transparency, and mutual respect.
Parents should understand the decisions affecting their children and have accessible ways to ask questions, raise concerns, and participate in their education. Even when we don't always agree, families deserve to know that their perspectives have been heard and considered.
My commitment: I will support open communication and a culture that treats parents as valued partners in their children's education.
3. Students at the Center
Every decision should begin with one question: How does this benefit our students?
Budgets, programs, policies, staffing decisions, and long-term planning can become complicated. Our guiding principle shouldn't be.
Students must remain at the center.
I believe district resources should be used responsibly and with a clear connection to the educational experience of our children. That means protecting the classroom, supporting excellent teachers and staff, maintaining opportunities and programs that help students thrive, and investing in safe, effective learning environments.
Responsible stewardship isn't simply about spending less. It's about making thoughtful choices and ensuring our resources are directed where they can make the greatest difference for students.
My commitment: I will evaluate decisions through the lens of student outcomes, classroom impact, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
4. Accountable & Transparent Leadership
Trust is earned through listening, communication, and accountability.
A school board serves the entire community. Parents, teachers, staff, students, and taxpayers should be able to understand how important decisions are made and feel that their voices have a place in the process.
I believe board members should be willing to ask thoughtful questions, listen to different perspectives, explain their decisions, and take responsibility for the choices they make.
Transparency doesn't mean everyone will always agree. It means our community deserves an honest process and leaders who are willing to listen.
My commitment: I will approach School Board service with an open mind, ask questions when answers aren't clear, and work to make thoughtful decisions on behalf of our students and community.
The Standard I'll Bring to Every Decision
School Board members will face complicated issues, competing priorities, and difficult decisions. There won't always be an easy answer.
But the principles guiding those decisions can remain clear.
Students First.
Parents Heard.
Teachers Supported.
Leadership Accountable.
That's the standard I will bring to the Chippewa Valley School Board.
Our students deserve schools where they are safe, challenged, supported, and given every opportunity to succeed. Our teachers deserve the support they need to do their best work. Parents deserve a meaningful voice. And our community deserves leadership that treats its responsibility with care.
Together, we can protect what makes Chippewa Valley Schools strong while continuing to build an even brighter future for every student.
