Meet Vicky
A Parent. A Community Member. An Advocate for Our Students.
I'm a proud parent of three children whose lives have been shaped by Chippewa Valley Schools. Today, two of my children are still students in the district, while my oldest recently graduated and is preparing for her next chapter in college.
Like so many parents, I've experienced our schools from the perspective that matters most to me: as a mom.
I've celebrated milestones and graduations. I've watched my children grow, learn, struggle, succeed, and discover who they are. Along the way, I've seen firsthand the difference that caring teachers, supportive schools, and a strong community can make in the life of a child.
My commitment to children and families extends beyond my own home. My educational background is in psychology, with a concentration in social work, and throughout my career I've had the opportunity to work directly with children and young people through juvenile counseling, youth support, teaching, and work as a paraprofessional.
I've also served with PTO organizations and volunteered in our community, experiences that have allowed me to advocate for children and families while gaining an even greater appreciation for the important roles that educators, mentors, parents, and community members play in helping young people succeed.
Together, these experiences have shaped my belief in the power of education, mentorship, family support, and community—and they're a big part of why I'm running for the Chippewa Valley School Board.
Having children at different stages of their education has given me a unique view of the journey our students and families take through Chippewa Valley Schools.
I understand the trust parents place in our schools every day. We trust them not only to educate our children, but to provide an environment where they feel safe, respected, challenged, and supported.
My experiences working with children and families have only strengthened that belief. Every child brings different strengths, challenges, and needs into the classroom. Supporting them requires strong educators, engaged families, compassion, consistency, and a willingness to listen.
I've also learned how important it is for parents to feel heard and informed. The relationship between families and our schools shouldn't begin when there's a problem. It should be an ongoing partnership built on communication, transparency, and mutual respect.
I want to bring that parent's perspective—along with my experience supporting children, families, and educators—to the School Board.
A Parent's Perspective
I'm not running because I believe I have all the answers.
I'm running because I'm willing to ask questions, listen carefully, do the work, and make decisions based on what is best for our students.
I believe our district can continue building on what it does well while also being willing to confront the areas where we can do better.
That means creating schools where bullying is taken seriously and students feel safe. It means treating parents as partners. It means supporting the teachers and staff who work with our children every day. And it means making responsible decisions about district resources with students and classrooms at the center.
I believe leadership requires compassion and advocacy, but also truth, accountability, and the ability to bring people together. Those are the principles I will bring to the Board and the standards I will use when making decisions on behalf of our students, families, educators, and community.
Above all, I believe every decision made by the School Board should begin with one simple question:
How does this benefit our students?
Why I'm Running
Serving on the School Board is about more than policies, budgets, and meetings. It's about stewardship of something incredibly important: the education and well-being of our children.
I would be honored to bring the perspective of a parent, my experience working with children and families, a willingness to listen, and a commitment to thoughtful, accountable leadership to the Chippewa Valley School Board.
Because when our students succeed, our families succeed. And when our schools are strong, our entire community has a brighter future.
